Restroom trailer or flushing porta potties for a wedding?
A restroom trailer suits a wedding when the venue has a garden hose and a 20-amp outlet within about 50 feet, plus level ground the truck can back onto. Flushing porta potties with sinks suit venues without water or power, tight backyards and sloped lake lots. Both have real sinks and look better than standard units.
| 2-stall restroom trailer | Deluxe flushing units | |
|---|---|---|
| Needs water and power | Garden hose + 20-amp outlet or generator | No |
| Space | Level, about 8 × 20 ft plus truck access | 4 × 4 ft each |
| Inside | Flush toilets, sinks, mirrors, lights, A/C or heat | Foot-pump flush, sink, mirror |
| Good for | Up to about 150 guests per 2-stall for one evening | About 50 guests per unit for 4 hours |
How many restrooms does a wedding need?
A 150-guest, 5-hour wedding with a bar needs 7 porta potties, or one 2-stall restroom trailer plus 2 flushing units. The math: 150 ÷ 50 = 3 units, plus 2 because the event runs past 4 hours, makes 5. Alcohol adds 1 unit for every 3, so 5 + 2 = 7.
The calculator shows each step. If the venue has indoor restrooms, subtract about 1 unit per working indoor toilet.
When should I book wedding restrooms?
Wedding restroom trailers should be booked 3 to 6 months ahead for April–June and September–October Saturdays in North Alabama. Flushing units usually need 2 to 4 weeks. The trailer is set the day before so your caterer, florist and rental company can work around it.
Share the venue map and the caterer's arrival time. We place restrooms downwind of dinner and close to the dance floor, with a lit path.

Questions about wedding restroom rental
Can the restroom trailer run on a generator?
A restroom trailer can run on a generator that supplies a steady 20-amp, 120-volt circuit. Many venues already have an outdoor outlet. Ask us before booking a generator so we can confirm the plug type.
Do I need someone at the wedding to service the restrooms?
One-evening weddings rarely need service. For weekend-long celebrations, add a mid-event refresh visit to pump, restock and wipe down the units.
Can you put a restroom trailer on grass?
A restroom trailer can sit on firm, level grass. After heavy rain, soft ground or slopes may need a gravel or paved spot. Send photos of the area and we will confirm.
Is a wheelchair-accessible unit needed at a wedding?
Private weddings are not required to provide one, but an accessible unit is kind to grandparents and guests with walkers. Most couples add one alongside a trailer.
